What pests come with having a family pet?
As Australians we love household pets and many families have a pet as part of their family. One down side of having pets is they can bring pests into your home such as the Carpet Beetle. Carpet Beetles are an annoying destructive little pest. They feed on furs, wool, dried meats, dead carcasses (maybe something the cat dragged in last night!). They have been known to destroy carpets, rugs and even clothing, we suggest you get Sherry’s to advise you on what to do to eradicate and to prevent these nasty little destructor’s from invading. Sherry’s will come out and treat the problem areas with the appropriate Chemical and provide you with a report explaining what they have used.
Another pest carried by animals is better known, and that is the mighty Flea! Fleas are also known to be thicker around sandy soil environments. Their eggs hatch and wait for a pet to pass by. When you find fleas present in and around your home, treat you pet with a good flea treatment and thoroughly clean the pets environment and get Sherry’s to come and spray the affected areas. You will also receive a Pest Management Proposal & Advise Notice.
Some people find mice and rats cute and many keep them as pets. Though wild rodents are another invasive pest that has no problems with making themselves at home in our houses.
Rats and mice are often thick around sugar can and grain crops. They also make their way indoors into storage sheds gnawing through boxes and our belongings. They also make our kitchens home feeding on food scraps…. yuck! Time to call us to get a Sherry’s to install bait stations and do follow up visits until the problem is rectified.
